Homeless Student Parent Liaison
JOB DESCRIPTION
Assist with parent conferences, parent communications and assist in the tracking of homeless students throughout the school district. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to routine inquiries from staff and public. Exercise good telephone etiquette, receive incoming calls, answer routing questions, take reliable messages, route to appropriate staff in English and Spanish. Maintain, organize, and update/order supplies as needed. Perform clerical duties. Sort and distribute mail. Assist with parent conferences and parent communications in English and Spanish. Support and carry out activities related to the Homeless and Dropout Prevention Programs. Communicate with students, teachers, staff, and parents. Compile, maintain records, and other required documents. Monitor student grades and completion rates. Perform other duties as assigned. Regular attendance. Maintain confidentiality.
EXPERIENCE
One to three years secretarial experience
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient skills in typing, word processing and file maintenance Effective interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills General computer knowledge General knowledge of responsibilities of each campus department General knowledge of school programs Ability to work with students and teachers effectively Awareness and ability to access community resources Bilingual in Spanish/English

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, bending, and stooping. Frequent sitting and typing. Occasional district travel.
