93 max Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services, this position performs a cytologic evaluation of non-gynecological slide preparations in accordance with department policies and procedures for the presence of malignancy and/or other abnormal disease processes. The cytotechnologist is also responsible for assisting the pathologist/physician in thyroid fine needle aspiration adequacy, as well as rapid onsite evaluation from endobronchial ultrasound procedures. In addition, this position maintains diagnostic reports, quality assurance and procedure manual. Ability to meet all job physical requirements as outlined in job description or as agreed through a work place accommodation.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/ EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in non-GYN screening. 2. Computer experience preferred. 3. Experience assisting with fine needle aspirations and rapid onsite evaluations.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
1. Current California Cytotechnologist license required.
