SUMMARY OF POSITION
Perform complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease and to perform key sectional responsibilities. Trains and precepts staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
(S): Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. OR a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related life sciences field from an accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours in biology and chemistry Must be Technologist in Cytogenetics, CG(ASCP) certified Three years clinical laboratory experience in Cytogenetics such as primary cell culture and harvest, slide preparation and staining, chromosome analysis, microscopic and image analysis and cytogenetics analysis (karyotype, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and/or chromosome microarray (CMA)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
(S): Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited cytogenetics education program
