Job Description

Our Hoover office is hiring and looking for a Dental Assistant! At Pediatric Dental Associates our team is built on I.D.E.A.S. and we are committed to delivering on our core values which are Integrity, Development, Excellence, Accountability, and Service. We are looking for individuals that will foster those core values. The dental assistant will be responsible for general clinic administrative work and maintenance as well as completing lab work under the direction of the dentist. The dental assistant's primary responsibility is to prepare the examination rooms for appointments by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for the dentist. They also assist the dentist during their procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs throughout the appointment. Other duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Updating and maintaining patients' dental records in Dentrix software system Take and process X-rays Scheduling patient appointments Sterilizing instruments Keeping patients calm during procedures
Advancement Opportunity:
Pending review and evaluation, dental assistants may be given the opportunity to receive hygiene school tuition assistance and work under directly under their dentist. Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required At least 1 year experience in a Dental office preferred Knowledge or x-ray certification preferred Knowledge of Dental terminology preferred Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities Must possess a high level of flexibility and tolerance to adjust to changes in work loads and assignments Valid driver's license is required We are open weekly Monday through Thursday.
