Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Receptionist/Dental Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental practice. This dual-position combines front-office responsibilities with clinical support, creating a lively, engaging environment focused on health, comfort, and professionalism. You will manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, and assist with clinical procedures, all while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and infection control. Your energy and attention to detail will help foster a welcoming atmosphere for patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery settings. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and manage appointment scheduling using patient management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments following infection prevention management protocols and ensuring all dental equipment is functioning correctly. Assist dentists during procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and radiation safety guidelines. Record accurate medical documentation including vital signs, medical history, and dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Manage patient flow efficiently by coordinating appointment times, follow-ups, and patient care instructions to enhance overall clinic productivity. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and ensuring compliance with healthcare infection prevention standards. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred, especially in pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, billing, and record keeping. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures. Hands-on experience with dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, infection control practices, and four-handed dentistry techniques Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, oral surgery support, endodontic procedures, prosthodontics care, and the use of advanced dental equipment like 3D scanners is advantageous. Understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control policies to uphold clinical safety standards.
