Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. In this vital role, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and safety. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry and oral surgery settings. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered practice committed to excellence. Hours are for Monday through Thursdays. Responsibilities Assist dentists with a variety of clinical procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and setting up necessary equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and dental handpieces. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; document medical history, vital signs, and treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and providing excellent patient care with compassionate communication. Ensure all dental equipment is properly maintained and sterilized according to dental sterilization procedures; assist with dental instrument processing. Implement infection control protocols diligently to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and uphold healthcare infection prevention standards. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, four-handed dentistry, and oral surgery support. Experience with dental x-ray procedures and medical imaging technologies such as 3D scanners. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and general dentistry practices to effectively communicate with team members and patients. Familiarity with dental equipment operation, maintenance, and infection prevention management. Ability to navigate patient management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix confidently; experience with Epic or similar systems is a plus. Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and documentation; commitment to maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Excellent organizational skills for managing medical records, medical coding, and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
