Qualifications

• A team player with a positive attitude who wants to join our pediatric dental facility
• X-ray certified
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program preferred
• Friendly, great with children, have a strong work ethic, professional and be able to multitask
• Able to learn quickly and be self-motivated
• Willing to contribute to the growth of the practice Responsibilities
• Organize and sterilize dental instruments and patient treatment areas based on OSHA standards
• Set up treatment rooms and assist the dentist with procedures
• Collect and document accurate patient records
• Prepare instruments; clean treatment areas; sterilize equipment
• Responsible for patient flow, keeping treatment rooms neat and organized
• Take diagnostic x-rays requested by the dentist using coaching technique
• Apply cavity-preventative agents, such as fluoride and sealants
• Equipment Maintenance - Perform routine maintenance on equipment
• Must be able to work both independently and cooperatively in team settings
• Maintain regular attendance and adhere to assigned work schedule and office policies
• Perform thorough and gentle oral prophylaxis for patients
• Take impressions and perform basic lab duties
• Provide basic oral hygiene instructions
• Ability to multitask, take initiative and anticipate the needs of others
• Be able to communicate clearly with patients and their family while always maintaining a professional conduct
• Assist in maintaining adequate dental supply inventories and any other dental duties as assigned Experience Experience with Open Dental preferred At least one year of dental assisting experience
