In this vital role, you will assist with clinical procedures, manage patient interactions, and ensure the smooth operation of the dental practice. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help create a welcoming environment for every patient while adhering to strict infection control and confidentiality policies. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, patient-centered setting. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is ready for procedures, following dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management protocols Assist dentists during various procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing chairside assistance with precision and care Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed in accordance with dental x-ray standards Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Carestack, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on oral health practices, post-operative care, and treatment plans while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies Support patient management by scheduling appointments using patient management software and greeting patients as a friendly dental receptionist Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments, adhering to infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and dental equipment maintenance guidelines Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with demonstrated experience in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus Proficiency with EMR systems Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental procedures Skilled in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry, dental instrument processing, and chairside assisting during complex procedures like oral surgery or endodontics Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools safely and effectively Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control policies Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times Join us to make a difference in patients' lives through compassionate care while advancing your career in a supportive environment that values your skills!
