The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and clinical efficiency. Experience with EMR systems, Eaglesoft and HIPAA compliance is highly valued. Prior knowledge of general dentistry procedures will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis. Record vital signs and medical history information accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft. Manage medical documentation and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions. Maintain dental equipment, sterilize instruments, and uphold strict infection control standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed. Assist with medical imaging procedures and understand relevant medical terminology for comprehensive patient care. Collaborate with the team using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient experience. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with dental assisting procedures is essential. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is required. Ability to perform X-ray imaging and operate 3D scanners is advantageous. Familiarity with medical coding, medical records management, and electronic medical documentation systems like Epic is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and medical terminology will support effective communication within the team.
