Job Summary Join our dynamic pediatric dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Responsibilities Prepare treatment areas with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies for various dental procedures in pediatric dentistry. Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Open Dental; ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and answer questions about procedures or dental terminology. Manage appointment scheduling as a dental receptionist, coordinate patient flow, and handle medical records efficiently. Perform sterilization of instruments and maintain infection control standards in accordance with OSHA guidelines. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental office role; familiarity with dental office experience is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical coding related to dentistry. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of medical records and patient information. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training; additional certifications in medical documentation or medical coding are advantageous. Ability to stand for extended periods, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and maintain attention to detail at all times.
