Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures. Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialties. Take dental x-rays while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, to ensure accurate medical documentation. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring seamless patient flow and comfort throughout procedures. Monitor vital signs and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times. Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling and patient management software efficiently. Maintain dental equipment including 3D scanners and other advanced tools to ensure optimal operation. Follow strict infection control protocols in line with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise to uphold a safe clinical environment. Qualifications Dental Assistant with valid xray license or Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure where applicable. Proven experience in dental assisting within a dental office environment. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation. Experience with X-ray procedures, including digital radiography techniques for general dentistry and oral surgery cases. Knowledge of infection prevention management practices including aseptic technique and dental sterilization procedures. Ability to perform medical documentation accurately while maintaining strict confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, team members, and healthcare professionals. Flexibility to handle diverse duties such as dental instrument processing, chairside assisting, and patient care across various specialties like prosthodontics and endodontics.
