$35/hour About the Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and motivated RDAEF2 (Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions) for a long-term subbing opportunity with a dental practice in Bakersfield, California. This position offers the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate. The ideal candidate is a confident and dependable dental professional who is comfortable working closely with the dentist and clinical team while providing high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures. Perform duties within the scope of practice permitted for an RDAEF2 in California. Take and process dental radiographs as permitted by certification and practice protocols. Assist with restorative procedures and other expanded-function duties. Provide chairside support and maintain efficient operatory flow. Prepare and sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection-control standards. Review and maintain accurate patient records. Communicate professionally with patients and help them feel comfortable throughout their visit. Follow OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, and office safety protocols. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment. Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and front-office staff to provide an excellent patient experience. Qualifications Current RDAEF2 certification . Current California-required certifications, including CPR/BLS , as applicable. Experience working in a general dentistry or multi-specialty dental practice preferred. Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, infection control, and patient safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dental environment. Reliable, organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused. Comfortable working directly with patients and supporting the dentist during procedures. What We Offer $35/hour compensation. Consistent Monday-Thursday and every other Friday schedule.
