Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of our dental practice. As an energetic and detail-oriented professional, you will assist dentists during procedures, ensure the highest standards of infection control, and help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your expertise in dental assisting, patient management, and clinical procedures will contribute to a smooth, efficient, and positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection prevention management policies. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other specialty treatments by providing chairside support. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols and radiation safety standards. Manage patient records accurately using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and answer questions to promote patient care and satisfaction. Perform dental instrument processing including sterilization procedures following aseptic technique guidelines to prevent infection transmission. Support front desk operations by assisting with patient management software, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and acting as a dental receptionist when needed. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation to ensure patient safety during visits; coordinate with healthcare professionals for patients requiring special attention or pediatrics care. Requirements Valid registration as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or certification in accordance with state or provincial regulations. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures; pediatric dentistry experience is a plus. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is preferred. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to oral health. Hands-on experience with dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, sterilization tools, and other clinical instruments. Knowledge of infection control practices aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise standards. Ability to perform dental assisting tasks such as four-handed dentistry, endodontics support, oral surgery assistance, and prosthodontics procedures efficiently. Excellent communication skills to deliver outstanding patient care and collaborate effectively within the team.
