Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant/Hygiene Coordinator to join our dynamic dental team. We are a private family practice with 2 doctors and a great supportive team. Our patients are like family, we see multiple generations of patients for decades. Our office is modernized and very clean, with the latest technology. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a strong background in clinical dental procedures, patient management, with a commitment to delivering exceptional education and patient care. This role involves supporting our hygiene providers and doctors in delivering exceptional care while fostering a welcoming environment for patients. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in dental software systems and possess excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively across clinical and administrative functions. Duties Assist the hygiene department with: scheduling patients, managing follow-up care, patient educationand optimizing daily clinic workflow to enhance patient throughput. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices, and ensuring all tools meet infection prevention standards. Manage patient records Dentrix; document treatment details accurately and securely. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental health. Maintain clinical cleanliness by following strict infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures in accordance with healthcare infection prevention standards. Support the dental team with chairside assisting during procedures Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or Hygiene Coordinator within a busy dental clinic environment. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is essential. Strong knowledge of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and dental equipment operation. Ability to accurately perform dental x-ray procedures while maintaining strict adherence to infection control and safety standards. Excellent understanding of medical terminology related to dentistry and general healthcare practices. Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support during various treatments. Familiarity with medical documentation standards for medical records and medical imaging processes. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting. Strong communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration while maintaining professional decorum. Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour
