The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with expertise in chairside support, patient care, and dental procedures. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, delivering exceptional patient experiences, and supporting the clinical team with technical and administrative tasks. Your proficiency in dental terminology, infection control, and medical documentation will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality care. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools. Manage patient records efficiently within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide patient education on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures tailored for pediatric dentistry when applicable. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation during procedures requiring medical history updates or medical coding. Support front desk operations as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow. Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas meet health standards for safety and cleanliness. Collaborate with the clinical team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures. Keep up-to-date with advancements in dental technology including the use of 3D scanners and other innovative tools to enhance patient care. Experience Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a busy dental clinic environment. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining confidentiality of medical records. Hands-on experience with dental radiography including X-ray techniques suitable for general dentistry and pediatric patients. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience supporting various specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, or pediatric dentistry is advantageous. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach toward patients of all ages.
