Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the smooth operation of the clinic while maintaining strict adherence to safety and infection control standards. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available for patient procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments including chairside assisting with general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry cases. Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix to ensure accurate documentation of patient information, treatment plans, and medical history. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly. Perform vital signs assessment and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures. Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to uphold the highest standards of safety within the clinic environment. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance information, and managing medical coding for billing purposes. Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry practices to optimize efficiency and patient outcomes. Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including HIPAA privacy laws and infection control guidelines. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting with proficiency in dental assisting procedures is required. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding enhances your ability to support comprehensive patient care. Experience with pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or general dentistry is preferred. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools confidently. Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Excellent communication skills combined with a professional demeanor to effectively interact with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics when applicable.
