In this role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical efficiency. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to a positive patient experience and the smooth operation of our busy dental practice. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, and prosthodontics while working with state-of-the-art dental technology. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental chairs, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics with precision and confidence. Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper medical documentation. Manage patient records using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, accurately documenting treatment plans, medical history, vital signs, and clinical notes while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures clearly, managing patient anxiety, and ensuring comfort throughout visits; assist with pediatric dentistry needs when applicable. Collaborate seamlessly with the dental reception team to coordinate appointments, manage patient flow, and handle administrative duties related to medical documentation and medical records. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially in general dentistry environments. Knowledge of dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures including X-ray techniques is required. Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control practices—including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and infection control—is crucial for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Experience assisting with complex procedures like oral surgery or endodontics will be considered an asset.
