In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional patient care by supporting dentists during clinical procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the dental practice. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and dental sterilization procedures. Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, adhering to all safety protocols and radiation safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging as needed to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental health. Support the dental reception team by managing patient check-in/check-out processes, scheduling appointments, and handling administrative tasks with professionalism. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant or Dental Assistant with relevant licensing requirements. Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry specialties. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms for medical documentation and records management. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and infection control protocols including aseptic technique. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Familiarity with dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention management practices. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to oral health and healthcare infection prevention standards. Excellent communication skills for patient management and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team focused on four-handed dentistry techniques.
