Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols. Take dental X-rays while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Manage patient records accurately Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, managing suction devices, and supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and answer their questions confidently using proper dental terminology. Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary to ensure patient safety throughout procedures. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following dental sterilization procedures and infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Requirements experience as a Dental Assistant Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Familiarity with dental x-ray procedures, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry is highly desirable. Ability to operate dental instruments safely while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection prevention policies. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics; compassionate patient care is essential. Certification in radiography (X-ray) is required; additional certifications in infection control or healthcare infection prevention are a plus.
