Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized and ready for use according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures including pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental instruments efficiently. Take dental x-rays using advanced imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies. Perform vital signs assessments and document medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment instructions, and answer questions about dental terminology or procedures to enhance their understanding and comfort. Maintain dental equipment functionality, perform dental instrument processing, sterilization procedures, and ensure aseptic technique throughout all clinical activities. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of Pediatric dentistry procedures. Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting. Familiarity with dental equipment such as X-ray machines, sterilizers, and 3D scanners; experience with dental x-ray is highly preferred. Strong understanding of infection control practices and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise. Ability to operate patient management software like Eaglesoft effectively. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy relevant to dentistry, and pediatric dentistry is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage patient care professionally while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
