In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care while supporting the clinical team with a variety of dental procedures. Your expertise will help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages, especially in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry settings. You will utilize your comprehensive knowledge of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and medical documentation to uphold the highest standards of safety and quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment where every day makes a difference in people's lives. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and materials, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including digital imaging and 3D scans, ensuring accurate positioning and patient comfort. Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as OpenDental while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist, verifying insurance details, and managing medical documentation and coding. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental wellness. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Epic, or similar EMR platforms. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Experience with chairside assisting across general dentistry procedures as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners confidently and safely. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining patient privacy and medical records security. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the dental team and provide compassionate patient care. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical coding to support accurate documentation in medical records. Join our team where your expertise will directly impact patient health outcomes!
