Responsibilities Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery with precision and professionalism. Take and develop dental x-rays, ensuring accurate dental imaging for diagnosis. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments efficiently and adhering to dental sterilization procedures. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth workflows using patient management software and coordinate with the dental receptionist for scheduling and patient flow. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and general dentistry procedures. Experience with dental equipment operation such as X-ray machines. Expertise in infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation of medical records. Ability to perform dental instrument processing efficiently while adhering to sterilization protocols.
