Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional oral healthcare! Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by preparing instruments and materials. Manage patient flow by taking vital signs, medical history, and ensuring accurate medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic. Operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture high-quality images necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning. Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment and prevent cross-contamination. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and coordinating with dental reception staff to optimize patient experience. Apply knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures while maintaining patient comfort. Qualifications Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with general dentistry or pediatric dentistry practices. Proficiency in EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is essential for managing medical records and documentation accurately. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures is required to ensure patient safety. Familiarity with dental imaging equipment including X-ray technology and 3D scanners is advantageous. Strong understanding of dental and medical terminology along with anatomy knowledge enhances communication within the team. Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
