Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical operations. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with dentists and hygienists, ensuring smooth clinical workflows while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient confidentiality. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere where patients feel cared for and confident in their dental experience. Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists during procedures such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support with dental instruments and materials. Take and develop dental x-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with dental x-ray safety standards. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, accurately documenting medical history, vital signs, and treatment details while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain procedures using appropriate dental terminology to ensure understanding. Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following aseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission. Support front desk operations by assisting with patient management software tasks, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow efficiently. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic environment. Knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and clinical procedures including dental sterilization procedures and infection control policies. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Ability to perform X-ray imaging safely while maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of medical documentation, medical terminology, and medical records management. Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly to pediatric patients and their families. Certification in dental assisting or relevant coursework; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or oral surgery are advantageous.
Pay:
$26.00 - $33.00 per hour
