Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies. Provide patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Follow infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and dental sterilization procedures to uphold healthcare infection control standards. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and assisting with patient inquiries in a professional manner. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable. Strong understanding of infection control practices, dental sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other medical imaging tools safely and effectively. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is a plus. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism in handling medical documentation and records. Certification in dental assisting or related healthcare fields preferred; ongoing training in dental assisting techniques is encouraged.
