Job Description

Palm & Poppy Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant with a passion for working with pediatric patents. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, proven pediatric clinical experience, and a commitment to high-quality care for patients. Dental Assistants who are actively pursuing RDA licensure are welcome to apply.
Please Note:
This position is currently temporary and part-time, with the possibility of conversion to a long-term role based on performance and company needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate with patients with developmentally appropriate language. Communicate with parents with professionalism, warmth and clarity. Capture quality, diagnostic dental radiographs for pediatric patients. Perform quality coronal polishing. Provide education to families with active discussions about oral hygiene and diet. Perform instrument sterilization, and maintain strict infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA, CDC, and state dental board regulations. Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials prior to each patient procedure according to the dentist's treatment plan. Provide four-handed chairside assistance during operative procedures (fillings, crowns, pulpotomies, and extractions) and exams. Demonstrate manual dexterity and ability to handle instruments safely and deftly. Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed clinical documentation and patient records. Required Qualifications 1+ years of experience as a dental assistant in a pediatric dental setting.
Certifications:
coronal polishing, x-ray, and infection control. Sealant certification for RDAs (or actively pursuing sealant certification). Confidence in basic pediatric behavior management with demonstrated past experience. Ability to independently assist chairside for procedures including composites, pulpotomies, SSCs, zirconia crowns, extractions, and space maintainers. Skill in taking diagnostic radiographs for pediatric patients. Demonstrated mastery of computer skills for rapid digital charting and communication.
Pay:
From $23.00 per hour
