The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and clinical excellence, with comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and dental equipment. As a vital member of our practice, the Dental Chairside Assistant will support dentists during a variety of procedures, ensure patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of clinical confidentiality and safety. Candidate should possess strong experience in assisting with crown and bridge procedures, making temporary crowns, assisting with implant placement and restoration, oral surgery and I.V. and General Sedation. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, oral surgery, implant placement and restoration. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection prevention management protocols. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) accurately while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and infection control policies. Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, treatment plans, and clinical notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical documentation as needed to support comprehensive patient care, especially in pediatric dentistry or patients with special health considerations. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by following aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures for dental instruments and equipment including 3D scanners when applicable. Support patient management by providing clear instructions on pre- and post-treatment care, ensuring a positive patient experience through effective communication and compassionate care. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient workflow using patient management software and other digital tools to optimize appointment scheduling and treatment coordination. Uphold all clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and personal information in accordance with healthcare privacy standards. Experience Prior experience working in a general dentistry or specialty practice such as oral surgery and/or implant placement and restoration. Proficiency in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency during procedures. Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation is essential for success in this role. Knowledge of infection prevention management practices including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques is required to maintain a safe clinical environment. Experience utilizing dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling, record keeping, and billing purposes. Experience with assisting during I.V. and General Sedation procedures a plus. Demonstrated ability to adhere strictly to clinical confidentiality policies while managing sensitive medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
