Job Description
Overview Pediatric Dentistry of Pleasant Hill is seeking a skilled, part-time orthodontic/pediatric dental assistant to join our team. We are a family-owned pediatric and orthodontic practice that strives to create beautiful smiles and provide excellent care to our patients. We pride ourselves on fostering a positive and close-knit workplace culture. Most of our team members have been with our practice for over 15 years. We are looking for a dependable and team-oriented Registered Dental Assistant (or Dental Assistant) who enjoys working with children and wants to grow with a stable, long-term practice. This is a part-time position ranging from $25-35/hr (depending on qualifications and job type RDA vs DA), with the potential to become full-time for the right candidate. What Makes Us Different Supportive, collaborative team culture Fun, upbeat environment Long-standing, stable staff who are willing to mentor Leadership that values communication and teamwork A workplace where you are appreciated Responsibilities Assist the dentist during dental procedures Prepare and turn over operatories efficiently Maintain sterilization and infection control standards Take digital X-rays (per California regulations) Take orthodontic records to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning Help children and families feel comfortable and at ease Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain clinical organization and supplies Work collaboratively to ensure smooth patient flow Record and update patient medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for both patients and staff Qualifications At least 1 year of previous experience as EITHER an orthodontic or pediatric dental assistant (experience in both is a plus!)
