Duties Assist dentists chairside during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, root canals, and prosthodontics. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for use. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with HIPAA and infection prevention policies. Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments, updating medical records using patient management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and greeting patients warmly as they arrive. Monitor vital signs and medical history to ensure patient safety before procedures. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records. Follow strict infection prevention management protocols including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to uphold the highest standards of infection control. Support pediatric dentistry patients with gentle care and effective communication tailored to children's needs. Assist with medical imaging procedures using 3D scanners or other advanced dental imaging equipment as required. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to promote optimal health outcomes. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting techniques, dental terminology, and dental equipment operation. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for accurate documentation. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety protocols. Knowledge of dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, hygienists, patients, and the reception team including dental reception duties. Basic knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and medical terminology for accurate record keeping. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently in a busy clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain required certifications is appreciated.
