Position Summary Under the direct supervision of the Dental Director and Dental Manager, the Dental Assistant performs chairside assisting, clinical support, and a variety of related tasks to ensure smooth operations and optimal patient care. This role requires proficiency in a wide range of dental assisting duties, from routine check-ups to specialized procedures, and offers the opportunity to be a key player in enhancing patient care and clinic efficiency. Job located in San Bernardino, CA. Key Responsibilities Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during a variety of procedures, including endodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, prosthodontics, and restorative treatments. Expose, process, and mount diagnostic radiographs. Maintain knowledge of standard and radiographic methods. Utilize appropriate dental terminology, materials, medications, and instruments. Assist in the maintenance and testing of equipment such as sterilizers, x-ray processors, and other clinical tools. Clean, sterilize instruments, and set up trays. Follow clinic protocols for sterilization, disinfection, and disposal of infectious materials. Effectively pour models and assist with other lab procedures. Instruct patients on oral hygiene and preventive dental practices under the supervision of the dentist. Monitor dental supplies, reorder as necessary, and ensure the clinic is stocked to support daily operations. Accurately document patient information, chart exam findings, and assist in maintaining detailed patient records. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked operatory and laboratory. Plan work duties to ensure efficient patient flow. Familiarity with patient scheduling procedures to support clinic workflow. Collaborate with the dental team to implement preventive dental activities and community education programs. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of all patients and staff, including the use of protective equipment and adherence to ergonomic standards. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Dental Assistant preferred. Experience in a dental assisting role, with proficiency in four-handed dental assisting techniques, including endodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, prosthodontics, and restorative procedures. Familiarity with dental terminology, radiography, and sterilization processes. Ability to effectively communicate with patients and staff. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all safety and regulatory standards. Knowledge of infection control standards and safety protocols in a dental clinic setting. Must be compassionate, team-oriented, and passionate about providing quality care to patients. Must have a California License and Dental Cerificates Preferred Qualifications Bilingual English/Spanish. Experience in pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, or multi-specialty dental practices. Experience working with Denti-Cal/Medi-Cal, PPO, HMO, or FQHC environments. Experience with treatment presentation and financial counseling.
