Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection prevention management protocols. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while ensuring proper patient positioning and safety measures are followed. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Perform vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and dental terminology to promote understanding and compliance. Maintain dental equipment, including dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques, to uphold clinic safety standards. Qualifications Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant with current licensure. Proven experience with dental assisting in a clinical setting, preferably with pediatric dentistry or oral surgery exposure. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with familiarity with patient management software. Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dental procedures. Skilled in dental instrument processing, infection control protocols, and dental sterilization procedures. Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely using proper techniques and equipment. Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control policies, including HIPAA compliance.
