Certified Dental Assistant Full Job Description Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with patient assessment, including taking vitals and recording medical history
- Utilize medical terminology and coding systems to accurately document patient information
- Handle phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication with patients and external parties
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Assist with dental procedures as needed, including X-rays and CAD systems
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar administrative role preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes
- Proficiency in using dental software systems (such as Epic) for scheduling and record keeping
- Familiarity with X-ray equipment and techniques
- Understanding of medical coding principles for accurate billing purposes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with patients and colleagues
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
- Dental assisting certification or experience
