Young Dental Group is a modern, private dental practice in San Mateo focused on personalized, comprehensive care. We prioritize patient education, thoughtful treatment planning, and a calm, welcoming environment. Our team is small, close-knit, and genuinely invested in doing excellent clinical work. Who This Role Is Perfect For We're looking for an experienced dental assistant who is confident chairside, excellent with patients, and comfortable supporting restorative procedures from start to finish. This role exists to support the whole team — the doctor, patients, front desk, and fellow clinical staff — not just one part of it. We believe a happy, supported team is what makes quality patient care possible, so how you show up for your coworkers matters as much as your clinical skill. This is not an entry-level or training role. We're looking for someone who can step in and contribute immediately.
Objectives:
Creating a caring and comfortable environment for patients Supporting the success of the entire dental team Responsibilities include: Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor while assisting patients in any capacity Four-handed chairside assisting to keep procedures efficient and comfortable for the patient Proficient in taking x-rays, 3D scans, and photographic records Setting up up and breaking down of operatories along with sterilizing equipment Efficiently up-keeping of the clinical area and maintaining clinician schedules Secondarily, supporting front desk when necessary (including answering phones and scheduling appointments) Room for growthRequirements:
2 years of dental experience with solid understanding of restorative procedures and chairside workflow Current x-ray license and BLS certification 8-hr CA Board-approved Infection Control and 2-hr Board-approved California Practice Act Strong computer skills Strong written and verbal English communication skills Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented QUICK and able to multi-task in a face paced environment Positive energy and enthusiastic about patient AND team care The office is open four days a week, Tuesday through Friday, from 7AM - 6PM.
