Qualified candidates will travel by company van to multiple facilities that are located within a designated territory. We are currently seeking a Dental Assistant to join our progressive mobile dental practice.
Position Overview :
Responsible for preparing clinical cart and supplies for the day's schedule and driving company vehicle to various health care facilities. Will assist the doctor with setting up for treatment and clean up after treatment is completed. Carry equipment in and out of the facility, setting up as required. At the end of the day, clean and sterilize instruments. Get a list ready to restock the cart.
Qualifications:
Dental Certificate and X-ray Certification required Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Duties:
Weekday commitment: No call or weekends Assisting Dentist in the post-acute care setting Round daily at multiple facilities Available for frequent overtime due to varied travel distances
Essential Job Functions:
Prepare clinical cart and supplies for day's schedule Drive to and from health care facilities in company vehicle Check in with Social Services upon arrival at facility Provide Check-in and Check-out forms Communicate and interact with facility staff as needed Verify patient identification prior to treatment Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures Ask about the patient's medical history Take patient's blood pressure and pulse at doctor's request Implement infection control protocol, prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment Explain instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures, such as placement of a restoration (filling) Give oral hygiene instructions Maintain patient records accurately and with confidentiality Accurately and legibly complete Patient Summary and other reports as needed Order supplies as needed Load equipment, supplies, lab cases and charts into vehicle and transport to and from facilities Verify all equipment, instruments, and supplies are accounted for before exiting facility Maintain cleanliness, inventory levels, supplies, and necessary instruments in mobile carts and units are in neat and orderly fashion on daily basis Responsible for chart/record security while at facilities and during transit Handle and account for lab cases as needed Maintain and operate company vehicle in clean and safe manner according to company policies Participate in all training requirements of the company Only perform the duties permitted by the scope of your licensure as a
Dental Assistant Skills/Experience/Licensure Requirements:
Two years' experience as a dental assistant or equivalent, preferred and desired, but willing to train. Dental Certificate and X-ray Certification required. Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, including sterilization and infection control Driving of company vehicle required; must have California or Arizona (as applicable) Driver's License with satisfactory driving record Familiar with basic computer usage required for online training, patient record access and email Must be able to lift 75 pounds of dental equipment to carry into and out of facilities and corporate office
