You will help with preparing patients for exams and surgery, sterilizing instruments, setting up rooms, and assisting bedside during cases. Education/ Experience Dental x-ray certification Certification or Associate degree in an accredited dental assistance program High School diploma or equivalent. Valid RDA License issue by the State of California Current American Heart Association approved BLS CPR Completion of 8-hour infection control course for sterilization Job Requirements Requires fluent communication with parents in Spanish Able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds from the floor Job Duties Preparing patient for exams and setting up their treatment plans. Able to multitask- while assisting the doctors on completing the exam and related consents/paperwork Prepare patient for surgery through the work-up process through collecting vitals and reviewing health history with the patient/ parent. Cross trained with infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures. Assisting dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary/proving great patient care. Taking dental x-ray for dental diagnostics and caring for dental x-ray equipment in exam and procedure rooms. Maintaining dental equipment inventory and relaying supply needs to the director in a timely manner other duties as assigned.
