In this vital role, you will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly in accordance with infection control protocols. Assist dentists during various procedures such as cleanings, restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging technology, including 3D scanners when applicable. Manage patient records with precision using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality. Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear working area during procedures. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient care. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and maintaining accurate medical documentation and coding. Skills Proficiency with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar EMR platforms. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with X-ray procedures and medical imaging technology; familiarity with 3D scanners is a plus. Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently to optimize patient comfort and procedural flow. Understanding of HIPAA regulations and best practices for safeguarding patient information. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with children is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals.
