We have a small office where we all treat each other like family Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all tools are ready for procedures in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist dentists chairside during a variety of treatments including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery, providing four-handed dentistry support for increased efficiency. Take and develop dental x-rays, including intraoral images and 3D scans using advanced imaging technology, while adhering to dental x-ray safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Open Dental, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment details in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral health care instructions, post-operative care, and preventive practices to promote long-term dental health. Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following strict infection control policies to maintain clinical confidentiality policies and ensure patient safety. Support the office manager by managing patient scheduling through patient management software, confirming appointments, and handling administrative tasks efficiently. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with a strong understanding of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred; experience with medical coding and medical documentation is a plus. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical terminology related to oral health. Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention protocols, and aseptic techniques to uphold healthcare infection prevention and control standards. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining compliance with radiation safety guidelines; experience with 3D scanners or advanced imaging technology is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective patient management and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team including pediatric dentistry specialists or oral surgeons. Certification in radiography (X-ray) is required; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are beneficial but not mandatory.
