The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental professionals in delivering high-quality services. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist the dentist during various procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort. Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, including sterilization of instruments and equipment. Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols. Manage patient records and medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft for efficient patient management. Perform chairside assisting duties, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Monitor vital signs and assist in pediatric dentistry as needed. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff. Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay updated on dental practices and technologies. Skills Proficient in using EMR systems, particularly Open Dental. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience with medical imaging techniques and iTero scanners is a plus. Familiarity with medical documentation, coding, and records management. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining patient comfort. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not required.
