Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic dental team as an Orthodontic Chairside Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient experiences and support our orthodontic specialists. In this vital role, you will assist with chairside procedures, ensure clinical excellence, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient care. Responsibilities Assist orthodontists during patient procedures, including bracket placement, wire adjustments and appliancae modifications along with scanning for clear aligners. Prepare treatment chairs, sterilize protocols for all dental instruments and equipment, including dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management. Operate dental equipment such as digital X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools while adhering to safety standards. Take and develop dental X-rays in compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about oral health, and ensuring comfort throughout treatments. Follow clinical confidentiality policies diligently while handling sensitive medical information in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control guidelines. Qualifications Proven experience as a dental assistant with a focus on chairside assisting in orthodontics or general dentistry preferred. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental instruments, and dental equipment operation. Certification in dental radiography (dental x-ray) is required; additional certifications in oral surgery or endodontics are a plus. Knowledge of infection control practices including sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and dental specialists when needed.
