Duties Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, surgical supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Assist oral surgeons during procedures such as extractions, implant placements, biopsies, and other surgical interventions by handing instruments, managing suction, and maintaining a clear operative field. Operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners to capture accurate medical imaging necessary for diagnosis and treatment planning. Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, updating medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, and ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations. Take vital signs, review medical histories, and assess patient comfort levels to ensure safety and optimal care during procedures. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and records with precision. Support general dentistry procedures when needed, including chairside assisting for pediatric dentistry or prosthodontics cases, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent patient experiences. Requirements Proven experience as a dental assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and clinical procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient patient management. Strong understanding of infection control practices including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention protocols. Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray units, intraoral cameras, and 3D scanners while adhering to safety standards. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral surgery procedures along with proficiency in medical terminology. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with dentists, patients, and team members such as dental receptionists. Certifications in dental assisting, radiography (dental x-ray), or related fields are highly desirable.
