Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures. Assist dentists during various treatments including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and professionalism. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans while adhering to strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following infection control policies to maintain a safe clinical environment. Support the dental reception team by managing patient management software, scheduling appointments, and handling medical documentation with professionalism. Skills Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry practices. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry. Experience with dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and digital scanners like 3D imaging tools. Familiarity with EMR systems including Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient patient data management. Excellent understanding of infection prevention protocols including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection control expertise. Ability to perform vital signs measurement and medical imaging accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and oral surgery procedures is a plus for supporting diverse patient needs.
