The ideal candidate has previous oral surgery or surgical dental assisting experience, excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a genuine commitment to providing exceptional patient care. With offices throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties, we offer an opportunity to grow your skills while working alongside experienced Oral Surgeons and a dedicated surgical team. As a Surgical Dental Assistant, you will work directly with our Oral Surgeons and assist with a variety of procedures, including (but not limited to): Surgical extractions Dental implant procedures Bone grafting Sinus augmentations Facial surgery IV sedation and anesthesia procedures And much more This position provides valuable exposure to all aspects of oral surgery, including surgical preparation, assisting during procedures, anesthesia, patient monitoring, and post-operative care.
Responsibilities Include:
Prepare treatment and surgical rooms according to established procedures and protocols Welcome, prepare, and comfort patients before procedures Review and document medical histories, medications, and allergies Assist the Oral Surgeon during surgical procedures Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures Provide patients with post-operative instructions and education Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and team members Maintain strict infection-control and sterilization protocols Follow OSHA requirements and applicable dental board regulations Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment Maintain dental and surgical equipment and report equipment issues when necessary Monitor and maintain surgical and dental supply inventory Assist with ordering and stocking supplies Support the surgical team with additional clinical duties as needed
What We're Looking For:
Previous oral surgery or surgical dental assisting experience preferred Experience with anesthesia and/or IV sedation is a plus Phlebotomy certification is preferred, but not required Strong understanding of dental and surgical terminology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Professional, dependable, and organized Comfortable working in a fast-paced surgical environment Team-oriented with a positive attitude Compassionate and patient-focused Willing to travel between offices Willing to go above and beyond to provide exceptional patient care Why Join Us?
