Job Description

Osceola Community Health Services (OCHS) is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center. OCHS operates several Community Health Centers throughout Osceola County that are accredited by The Joint Commission for Ambulatory Care and Primary Care Medical Home. Requirements:
  • Bilingual, preferred
  • Copy of Dental Radiography license/certification
  • EFDA Certification
  • Copy of DA training certificate
  • CPR Certification Entry-level position providing assistance to the dentist consisting of the examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, preventative, restorative and surgical procedures within the scope of the Dental Practice Act and OCHS policies.
All dental work is performed under the supervision and direction of the on-duty dentist. Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials. Exposes dental diagnosis x-rays. Fabricates temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions. Places and removes rubber dams and matrices. Places temporary restorations. Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts. Pours, trims and polishes study casts. Assists dentist in providing 4- handed dental restorative, prosthetic and surgical treatment within the designated treatment plan. Takes and records medical and dental histories and vital signs of patients and records in patient record. Records treatment information in patient record. Provides postoperative instructions as prescribed by dentist. Instructs patients on oral hygiene and plaque control programs. Educated on the proper use of dental products (i.e. floss, toothbrush) Cleans and polishes removable appliances. Places dental sealants and removes sutures as needed. Maintains supply orders. Conducts breakdown, clean-up, and set- up of patient exam rooms using proper infection control techniques and universal precautions. Assists with clerical duties including check-in, check-out, insurance verification, billing and scheduling of appointments. All other duties as assigned. OCHS is an equal opportunity employer.
