Job Overview We are a small Private Practice General Dental office who care about our patients and want to hire someone who is patient oriented. The assistant must be proficient in xrays, treatment planned, and restorative skills. Looking for someone who can do intra oral scans or learns quickly. Being on time and not calling out are priority for this office. If you need to call off work a lot or have issues showing up on time, then this is not the office for you. Duties Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with precision and efficiency. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for patient care. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), including dental x-ray and 3D scanner imaging, adhering to radiation safety protocols. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide patient management support by explaining procedures, answering questions, and assisting with patient comfort and care throughout visits. Perform dental instrument processing and sterilization procedures following infection control standards to prevent cross-contamination. Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist in medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care. Support front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow efficiently. Maintain clinical cleanliness by adhering to infection prevention management policies and aseptic techniques at all times. Stay updated on dental terminology, equipment operation, and current best practices in healthcare infection control to ensure optimal clinic performance. Skills Extensive experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software for efficient patient data management. Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical documentation and patient confidentiality policies. Proficiency in dental radiography including X-ray techniques and 3D scanner operation for accurate medical imaging. Expertise in dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic technique to uphold safety standards. Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Familiarity with dental instruments, equipment operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal functionality during procedures. Ability to communicate effectively using dental terminology while providing excellent patient care in a professional manner. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with medical terminology for accurate documentation and treatment planning. Experience working within a healthcare environment that emphasizes clinical confidentiality policies and infection control protocols.
