Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic role, you will support dentists during a variety of procedures, ensure the smooth operation of the dental clinic, and help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. Duties Assist dentists during general dentistry procedures, including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring efficient workflow with four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments using aseptic techniques and maintaining strict infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans and other medical imaging, while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft, accurately documenting patient information, medical history, vital signs, and treatment details. Support dental reception duties by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and updating patient records in Epic or similar systems. Monitor and record vital signs and medical documentation to ensure comprehensive patient assessments. Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment while adhering to infection control standards to promote safety for patients and staff. Experience Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and medical terminology. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic is highly preferred. Hands-on experience with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and applying infection control practices. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in using dental equipment like 3D scanners. Experience supporting pediatric patients is a plus; certification in pediatric dentistry or pediatrics-related training is advantageous. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical coding practices related to dental procedures.
