Dental Administrative Assistant Job Summary We are seeking an organized, motivated, and patient-focused Dental Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position plays an important role in the daily operations of our dental practice and patient experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. This role goes beyond traditional front desk duties and includes scheduling, insurance coordination, patient communication, treatment coordination, payment collection, and helping maintain an organized and productive schedule. Responsibilities Welcome patients and provide a friendly, professional experience from check-in through check-out. Manage patient scheduling, confirmations, cancellations, and appointment changes while helping maintain an efficient and productive schedule. Answer incoming calls, texts, and patient inquiries professionally and promptly. Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, frequencies, and coverage information. Review and update patient information and maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Present treatment plans and help patients understand estimated insurance benefits, out-of-pocket costs, and payment options. Collect patient payments, copays, deposits, and outstanding balances. Assist with insurance claims, billing questions, and follow-up when needed. Coordinate closely with the clinical team to maintain efficient patient flow and communicate scheduling or treatment needs. Follow up with patients regarding unscheduled treatment, overdue appointments, and continuing care. Maintain an organized front office and help ensure daily administrative tasks are completed accurately. Provide excellent customer service while handling patient concerns professionally and finding appropriate solutions. Support the team with additional administrative and business-office responsibilities as needed. Qualifications Previous dental front office experience is preferred . Experience with dental insurance verification, scheduling, treatment coordination, or billing is highly desirable. Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Curve Dental, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental is a plus. Experience with Curve Dental is not required; training can be provided. Strong communication and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Comfortable multitasking and prioritizing responsibilities in a busy dental office. Professional, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to communicate confidently and respectfully with patients regarding treatment, insurance, and financial responsibilities.
