Dental Assistant (83302) FL, Orlando - Central Florida Reception Center - Orlando, FL 32831 Apply Overview Position Type Full-Time Job Shift Day Education Level High School Diploma/GED Travel Percentage None Category Dental Hygienist & Dental Assistant Apply Description Centurion is proud to be the provider of dental services to the Florida Department of Corrections . We are currently seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join our team at CFRC - Central Florida Reception Center located in Orlando, Florida. The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in chairside dentistry in a correctional setting.
Essential Duties:
  • Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments
  • Preparing and maintaining the dental operatory
  • Operating radiographic equipment
  • Administrative tasks as needed
Hours:
6am to 3p Monday-Thursday and 6am to 12:30pm on Friday Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six (6) months of experience as a Dental Assistant required
  • Dental Assistant license or ability to obtain one required
  • Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant preferred; if the candidate does not possess a current certificate, one must be obtained in the first year of employment
  • Certification and/or previous experience performing dental x-rays preferred
  • Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
  • Must be appropriately and actively certified in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check Share job details to
