Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency. Perform expanded functions such as placing temporary restorations, coronal polishing, and other delegated clinical tasks in accordance with state regulations and practice protocols. Take and develop high-quality X-ray images, including digital radiographs and 3D scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety standards are maintained. Manage patient records using Open Dental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient assessments and treatment planning. Maintain strict infection control protocols through aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures to safeguard patient and staff health. Support the dental reception team by managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, and medical documentation updates for seamless clinic operations. Requirements Valid Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification or license as per state regulations. Proven experience in general dentistry with proficiency in chairside assisting, dental terminology, and infection control practices. Strong knowledge of dental procedures across specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, pediatric dentistry, and medical imaging techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems like Dentrix or Epic for accurate record keeping and medical coding. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and external providers.
