In this vital role, you will support the dentist during procedures, manage patient flow, and more. Your proactive approach will help create a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining smooth clinic operations. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and ready. Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced imaging equipment, adhering to strict safety protocols and radiation guidelines. Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments according to infection prevention management procedures and aseptic techniques. Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and addressing questions with professionalism and empathy. Support the dental reception team by scheduling appointments, updating medical documentation, and managing patient management software to streamline clinic flow. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical records and documentation with precision. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant and knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and clinical procedures. Proficiency in dental software such as Open Dental, Dentrix or Eaglesoft for managing patient records and appointments. Strong understanding of infection control practices including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention standards. Ability to operate dental X-ray machines safely and accurately while following radiation safety guidelines. Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with familiarity with medical terminology related to oral health. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients and team members including dental receptionists, hygienists, and dentists. Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS)
