Responsibilities Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry and implants . Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment ensuring proper sterilization and aseptic techniques. Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to dental sterilization procedures. Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software. Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient care while maintaining strict compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies. Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to ensure understanding. Maintain infection prevention management protocols by following healthcare infection control standards and dental sterilization procedures. Support patient management by scheduling appointments, managing waiting areas as a dental receptionist, and ensuring smooth patient flow through efficient communication. Assist with medical documentation and record keeping in accordance with healthcare regulations. Operate dental equipment safely and effectively while supporting four-handed dentistry techniques for efficiency during procedures. Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is preferred (3 years plus); training will be provided for the right candidate. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and dental equipment operation is essential. Experience with dental X-ray procedures, medical imaging technology including 3D scanners, and dental sterilization processes is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare infection prevention standards is required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting are important for success in this role.
